In 2009, we established Educate Rancho “RSM Businesses That Care”. It is a coalition of local business owners organized to help fund some of the programs that have been cut at our local schools due to the on-going budget crisis in Sacramento. An important feature of the program is that 100% of the funds contributed go directly to the critical programs that have been eliminated. Hanna’s Prime Steakhouse and Pall Park Pizza Team have joined with the Town Center Car Wash to supply the initial funding of this community concept. Several others have come forward to participate in this coalition and support our efforts to help assist our local schools. I cannot thank them enough for their efforts and support.
To date, we have funded the Accelerated Reader Program at Robinson Elementary and Las Flores Elementary, Fastt Math at Tijeras Creek Elementary and the After School Tutoring Programs at Cielo Vista Elementary and Arroyo Vista Elementary. We are continuing to work with the principals of the local elementary and middle schools to help fund programs or educational improvements for their schools
All of us see the importance of education in our lives and believe in giving back to the community. We are committed to keeping Rancho a great place to work and live, and believe that the education of our children is an essential part of that commitment.
The Bell Tower Foundation has been very supportive of our efforts and established a committee specifically to assist us in the distribution of these funds to these schools. All in all, it’s been a great team effort, with Dave Hanna (Hanna’s), Jim Poettgen (Ball Park Pizza Team) and Kurt Stanley all helping make this vision a reality. Thank you for supporting our businesses and enabling us to give back to our community.
